If Denise's rescued dogs require any additional surgery (eg. dental, dew claws removal etc.) then this is also performed when their routine vet work is done and included in the adoption fee. The age given for puppies is their approximate age on the date they were listed for adoption. To obtain the current age, please add on the number of weeks since that date. The estimated size of puppies when fully grown is given in good faith as a guide only.

Male Poodle X Aged approx. 5 years Small size Chessie came from the Pound one
month ago and, while having his desexing surgery, the vet noticed that he had
a perineal hernia. It was hoped that the desexing surgery might have helped
the hernia in which case no further surgery would be required but
unfortunately this was not the case and Chessie now requires extensive surgery
to make him more comfortable. Chessie is a lovely dog, calm and relaxed, and
is in foster care with another ex-PAWS
dog (who is also a Poodle X) and a Labrador. Chessie gets on extremely well
with both dogs and would love a home with another dog for company if his
owners are at work all day. Chessie is house trained and is a house dog with a
lovely, fluffy, ginger coloured coat that does require regular grooming. If
you would like to help us to help Chessie have his surgery please
email Denise.
UPDATE 21 OCTOBER: Chessie has had his surgery and made a full recovery so is well and truly settled into his foster home. His carer finds him to be a very sweet dog .... friendly and with a tail always wagging. Chessie loves to play with his squeaky toys and gets on very well with his doggy foster brother Archie, who is also a Poodle X. He and Archie have not had a cross word and sleep together in the same bed. Chessie loves spending time in the sun on the patio and can be as active as you like or just sit with you if you want quiet time. He also loves going for walks and is very good in the car. Chessie's foster carer has had her 7 year old granddaughter to stay in the holidays and Chessie seemed to enjoy her company. He is a house dog with a high maintenance coat that will require regular grooming. Chessie comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with NSW Local Council lifetime registration for $350. If you would like more information on Chessie or to arrange to meet him, please phone 0466 690916 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email using ADOPTION ENQUIRY as your Subject Heading. Before phoning or emailing, please check Denise's rescued dogs in foster care on www.paws.com.au for any updated photos and to make sure this dog is still available for adoption.

Harvey has a beautiful soft blonde and red coat that is non shedding and will require regular grooming, he enjoys his bath and brush. Harvey was initially very shy and unsure when he came to us from the Pound however now is becoming rapidly enthusiastic and outgoing in his foster carers home, Harvey loves the company of his foster carer's two elderly Shih Tzu's and must go to a home with a companion dog. Harvey walks very well on a lead and really enjoys his daily walks, he is a house dog, is house trained and uses a doggie door with ease. Female Maltese X Aged approx. 6 years Small size Cotton came to us scared and timid however, over the last three weeks, she has completely transformed into a loving, outgoing and loyal companion. She LOVES her walks; however as she is a little older, a quick walk up to the local park twice a day is more than enough to keep her satisfied. Cotton is also very obedient off the leash - coming when called and waiting at roads when asked. She has cataracts, so her vision is slightly blurred, but this doesn't deter her at all and she can do anything any other dog can do - especially when it comes to detecting food! Cotton will keep your kitchen floor sparkling clean; she's as fast as a rocket when any scraps hit the ground! Cotton has very good house manners and is very good at night, she goes straight to sleep when the lights are turned out and doesn't make a peep until the morning - she's even been known to want a little more shut eye when her foster parents wake up earlier than she deems acceptable. Cotton is still a little unsure around other dogs and, rather than playing, she tends to say hello and investigate with a few barks. Cotton loves lots of TLC and although she has begun to come out of her shell, she is still a little wary of any sudden movements made around her or rough playing so, even though she is fine around children who stop to pat her on the street, a home with gentle love would be best. Cotton comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with NSW Local Council lifetime registration for $350. If you would like more information on Cotton or to arrange to meet her, please phone 0466 690916 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email using ADOPTION ENQUIRY as your Subject Heading. ![]() JACKSON Male Terrier X Puppy Aged approx. 6 months
Medium size (when fully grown) Jackson is
in foster care with a family who have another little dog and teenagers and
everyone in the foster home thinks Jackson is one terrific dog. His foster
carer said there is nothing negative to say about this little guy (who is not
actually so little as he weighs in at about 12kgs!). One of Jackson's
favourite things is riding around in the car with you and he sits up surveying
the scenery and enjoying every minute. Jackson is great with the teenagers,
has a gentle nature, loves his food and eats anything that is put down in
front of him. Jackson is a house dog who is house trained and gets along well
with the other dog in his foster carer's household. Jackson enjoys going to
the dog park or even just walking along the street with you and would love a
new home for Christmas.

Male Purebred Jack Russell Terrier Puppy Aged approx. 4 months Small size (when fully grown)
Darcy is
a lovely, gentle little boy who loves to cuddle and snuggle and is a big
hit with his doggy foster brother and sister who love playing with him. Darcy
has beautiful manners and is always trying to do his best.
He sits and comes when he is called and is doing very well with his
house training. When Darcy is an adult
Jack Russell he will need lots of walking, trips to the park and training
so will suit a family who are active and who don't mind a good walk
everyday for both their own health and that of their dog. Darcy loves
to play or nap but when he is not
doing those things he just loves to spend time close to his foster
carer. Darcy loves to sit with you
and get pats and will be an absolute joy to have in your home. This sweet
little puppy's antics will have everyone in the family smiling. Darcy
is a house dog and must have access to the house when his owner is away
from home and also the company of another dog if his owners are at work
during the day.

![]() WILBUR Male Pug X Shih Tzu Aged approx. 2 years Small size
Wilbur is a happy, fun loving little gentleman who
loves playing in the park wrestling with his doggy mates and chasing
balls. In between lots of cuddles and kisses, Wilbur carries his pink toy
rabbit around and then plays his favourite game " let's hide foster
mummy's shoe" (particularly the left one!). Bed time is lots of fun as
Wilbur methodically scrunches his 'blankies' into a ball using his teeth
to arrange the corners perfectly for slumber. Wilbur was originally a very
timid puppy farm dog living in a cage so his foster carer is amazed by his
new out going personality. Wilbur is obedient, gentle, cheeky and has
become more confident ... he is the apple of his foster carer's eye!
Wilbur would be happiest in a home with older children and must have the
company of another dog or he may fret. He must also have indoor access
through a doggy door or similar. Wilbur is growing a lovely coat which
will need regular grooming.

![]() HEATHER Female Papillon X Jack Russell Terrier Aged approx. 6 years Small size Heather has a loving and outgoing personality who learns quickly what is expected of her. She is fully housetrained and walks well on a lead although gets a bit excited when she sees other dogs! Heather is very well mannered and will not go through the door before you do. She is currently living with both male and female dogs and gets on well with them. Her favourite thing in the world is to lie on her back on your lap, having a relaxing massage. Heather is not a barker and loves to run round doing "zoomies" when she's in the mood. She plays with toys and balls but can be a little possessive of them so, although she loves children and is gentle and sweet with them, such play would have to be closely supervised and Heather will not be suitable for very young children. She's not a fussy eater, nor is she greedy. We think that Heather is a Papillon X Jack Russell as she seems to possess some of the traits of the Jack Russell. She's not good with cats but would be a super little agility dog and would excel at obedience training. Heather is a house dog. and cannot be rehomed as an only dog as she doesn't manage well without company of some sort and may get up to mischief. Her preferred companion would be a gentle male dog with no interest in toys. Heather comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with NSW Local Council lifetime registration for $350. She has also had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic). If you would like more information on Heather or to arrange to meet her, please phone 0466 690916 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email using ADOPTION ENQUIRY as your Subject Heading. ![]() VITO Male Shih Tzu X Jack Russell Terrier Aged approx. 18 months Small size Vito is a small, but sturdy little guy who we think is a Shih Tzu X Jack Russell. His coat is absolutely like velvet so you just want to touch him all the time. We called him Vito because we think of him as a little Italian man about town. He doesn’t just walk anywhere, he promenades, struts, even trots! Vito has a lot of energy when you get him going but otherwise he is calm and interested ‘checking out the scene’. He has machismo and is full of personality, friendly and very affectionate. Vito is very aware of what is going on around him and would be a good little protector. He is extremely gentle with his carer's not so gentle 11 month old baby and has never bitten or made the children nervous. Vito loves to have good company, get some pats and have a chat with you - he looks you straight in the eye, this boy! And like and Italian, Vito also LOVES his food and gives the impression of having 'hollow legs' as he eats everything and is not a fussy dog. Finally, adding to his charm, he gets around with this funny little under bite that stops him looking like Fabio or a model. Nonetheless, Vito is quite gorgeous to look at but there is something of the 'dufus' in his look when you see the underbite and it makes you laugh !! Vito doesn’t know how to fetch at the moment but he can run like the wind when he wants so this skill would be great for his entertainment. He doesn’t have demanding exercise requirements given his smallish size, but he loves to get out and about and ‘show off’. Vito is a house dog with a coat that will require regular grooming.

![]() RUDI Male Purebred German Spitz Aged approx. 6 years Medium size Rudi was rescued from a deceased estate and finds himself in need of a loving home and with his stunning good looks we are sure he will not be waiting long. Rudi loves human attention and is just as happy to hang out around the house with his people as he is to accompany them on their daily walk or other interesting outing. He is currently residing with three other dogs and gets along with them famously, but if they are not up for a game he can also amuse himself with his toys. Rudi is a biddable dog, he walks very well on the lead, is house trained, has basic obedience training and even gets on with cats. Rudi is a house dog and must have access to the house when his owner is away from home and also the company of another dog if his owners are at work during the day. Male Maltese X Aged approx. 10 years Small size
Toby is an older boy who enjoys sitting next to you on the couch with his head in your lap and loves 'his' humans but can be a bit wary of strangers. He is not suitable to be rehomed with young children because he can get frightened when people approach him suddenly so we would like Toby to go to a home that suits his personality and where there is no undue stress. Toby's foster carers have had him for a little while now and understand his personality well. They work during the day and Toby spends that time sleeping and watching the world go by. He ignores cats and gets on well with other small dogs but would also be fine as an only dog. Toby is a house dog with a coat that requires regular grooming and he is house trained. Toby comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and heartworm tested for the special adoption fee of $150 and is not available for adoption outside NSW. Charlie Girl is a very cute little Foxy X
who would love a home with someone who will take her on regular exercise as
she does love to go out for walks. She gets on very well with the other dogs
in her foster home and wouldn't mind a little mate about her size to keep
her company if her owners are out or at work. Charlie Girl (like all dogs of
her breed) has a low maintenance coat that just requires a bath every couple
of weeks and a quick brush every other day. She must not be rehomed with
cats as in typical Foxy fashion she does not like them and will chase
them! Charlie Girl is a house dog and is doing very well with her house
training.

Female Purebred Shih Tzu Aged approx. 10 years

Dolly is a precious, sweet darling who resembles a
lovely little doll. Don't let her age fool you though as she has plenty of
get up and go! Dolly loves walkies with her foster family and speed
walks like she is doing "The Hippy Hippy Shake" down the pathway. Dolly
thinks it is hilarious when her foster carer brings the shopping in and
marches behind barking as if to say " so..... what did you bring me hey?!"
Dolly loves dinner time so don't be surprised if she woofs a couple of
times to remind you its chow time. Her foster carer says that Dolly is
just singing for her supper! Dollyis a house dog and could be rehomed as
an only dog as long as her owners don't work all day as she loves human
company and would be lonely. She will need regular grooming and must have

![]()
Female Dachshund X Aged approx. 8 years Small size
Mistletoe (Missy) was saved just in time for Christmas and was in such a terrible state in the Pound that no-one wanted her. She has quite likely come from a backyard breeder's home as it appears that she has been regularly bred from as well as neglected (which is quite shocking considering she is a crossbreed!) Mistletoe has patchy hair at best and also has "dry eye" so her life would have been uncomfortable at best and very painful generally. She is now living in the lap of luxury and it has taken her some time to get used to things (such as having eye drops put in) but she's now realised that they make her eyes feel better and accepts her treatment almost willingly. Mistletoe is currently on thyroid medication which is inexpensive and due for review from time to time. She is a very sweet and quiet little girl who would prefer a townhouse environment as an only (and pampered) pooch! She does get on well with other dogs but is self contained and will thrive on being the centre of someone's universe. Mistletoe loves her walks and strides off initially but soon calms down and walks by your side. Until her hair has grown back, Mistletoe will feel the cold on cooler days and the sun on warm days (high risk of sunburn) so will only be rehomed where she has constant access to inside living. Mistletoe is housetrained and would prefer an open door as, although being shown how to use the doggy door, she isn't used to the concept but is a clean girl if provided with regular outside access. Her eyes will hopefully improve over time but dry eye is a permanent condition and requires eye drops twice daily at the moment. Listed 24 January Rescued by Denise

![]() CHILLI Male Maltese X Foxy Aged approx. 12 months Small size
Chilli's foster carer
describes him as a GORGEOUS wee man and
cannot believe that such a lovely dog was left unclaimed in the Pound.
Chilli has settled into his foster home and is enjoying the company of
his carer's children and a young Great Dane puppy. He is wonderful
with the children in the family, they cuddle him and
play with him and love him to death and he is just so patient with
them. Chilli loves to chase a ball and run around the house
with them and then its off
to sleep on his pillow. While he is excellent with children,
it is obvious that he prefers adults as he is his foster
mums little shadow and follows her
all around the house. He
would be quite content to sit
on her lap all day if she
let him! Chilli would do well in a
home where he has lots of human attention, perhaps with active
retirees or a 'work from home' person. He would also enjoy the
company of a dog of similar size to be his playmate. Chilli is a house
dog and has a coat that requires regular grooming.
Chilli comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with NSW Local Council lifetime registration for $350. ![]() VALERIE ROSE Female Purebred Maltese Aged approx. 3 years Small size Valerie Rose is a little darling of a dog! She is very easy to get along with and loves her foster carer and the other dogs in her foster home equally. She is sweet, eager to please and a gentle girl who loves to snuggle up, especially on the bed at night time. When Valerie Rose was rescued, her coat was in dreadful condition and it would seem that she had lived her life outdoors. Well those days are over now as she had a good clip and has quickly adjusted to life as a house dog. There is no going back for Valerie Rose who is learning all about the 'art' of house training. As her coat grows back she will require regular grooming and clipping to ensure she does not become a matted mess ever again. Valerie Rose would be best in a home with another small desexed dog to play with or with someone who can spend plenty of time with her. She is just a precious little angel, who deserves a wonderful, loving home. PUPPIES GALORE !! Three Male and Two Female Maltese X Puppies Aged 6 weeks Small size (when fully grown)
Eugenie, Beatrix, Rafael, Maximilian and Valentino are delightful little puppies each with their own unique personality. They are presently 6 weeks old and their adoring foster family are busy taking care of their every need. They were taken from their mother at 5 weeks and these happy, active little puppies all need very special homes. They will only be rehomed to committed families who will take them to puppy training when they are old enough and then give them lots of time and walks as needed when they are a bit older again. These puppies will not be rehomed where they are going to be alone while owners are out to work and we want families to adopt them who have another small, desexed dog or puppy as company for them. They are only tiny puppies and will only be rehomed with children over 10 years of age. These babies are house dogs and will have typical Maltese type coats that require regular grooming and clipping to keep them in good condition. The puppies will be ready for adoption early March 2010.

Sally's foster
carer thinks she is so adorable and thinks she is a doll with
her bright brown eyes and silky coat. Sally loves to look straight into your
eyes and is very attentive and active.
She is not really a lapdog as
she does not like to sit in your lap
but will come for a cuddle and then go and settle herself
on an empty sofa. Sally likes attention
but not fussing and does not like loud noises or raised voices. Young
children may be a bit much for her but over 12's would be fine. Sally loves her
food and will eat whatever is
put in front of her. She is in foster care with another
PAWS
dog Yoshi who is an older boy and not at all
interested in playing with Sally, no matter how hard she tries to tempt
him. We therefore feel Sally would really enjoy the company of another
small, playful dog in her new home. She is a house dog who is house
trained and is learning how to use the doggy door. Sally has a high
maintenance coat that requires regular grooming and clipping several
times a year.

![]() ARNIE Male Terrier X Aged 7 years (on Valentine's Day!) Small size
Arnie's owner
surrendered him to the Pound saying that he 'found him' but a little
investigating found that he was in fact the owner ... what a nice person he
is ... but the Pound responded in kind and he was fined for dumping his
dog! Arnie would like a better life (a nice one this time around) as he has
had 7 years bad luck with his previous owner. Arnie would like a home
with a retired person/couple or a family without small children who will
love this scruffy boy. Arnie's needs are simple, he only wants a comfy
bed, nice food, lots of loving and a short walk every other day. His coat is
looking a little raggedy at the moment but with a good diet and the
occasional tidy up we think he is going to scrub up well. Arnie is a house
dog and has impeccable manners. He gets along very well with his doggy
foster brother and sister and does not mind their company at all.
Arnie comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with NSW Local Council lifetime registration for $350. He has also had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic). CHARLIE GIRL'S PUPPIES Three Female and One Male Mini Foxy X Puppies Aged 5 weeks Small size (when fully grown)
The birth of Smudge, Panda, Bubbles (all female) and Chocko (male) was a complete surprise for their foster carer! Charlie Girl is a teeny, tiny Mini Foxy who came from the Pound hiding these little babies inside her and, when her waistline disappeared, it was thought that she was just gaining weight as she was now having a healthy diet. However very soon these four little puppies appeared and Charlie Girl quickly became Charlie Mum! Smudge, Panda, Bubbles and Chocko are healthy, happy little bundles enjoying life with their mum who is feeding them well. The puppies will only be rehomed as house dogs. and will be ready for adoption when they reach 8 weeks of age. The best home for these little ones will be with a family who have another desexed dog similar in age and size as company and puppy school will also be of benefit to them. Male Purebred (?) Shih Tzu Puppy Aged 9 weeks (born 11 Dec 2009) Small size (when fully grown) Spike is a very cute, sweet and funny Shih Tzu puppy. We are not 100% certain that he is a pure Shih Tzu, however he does look very much like one. Spike's mum is a pure Shih Tzu and was already pregnant when rescued by PAWS but we don't know what breed dad was. Spike has to be one of the cutest puppies you could ever hope to meet and is extremely good looking with his soft fluffy coat and impish little face. Spike is full of fun and loves life to the fullest, spending his days romping and playing with his puppy foster sister, so a home with a securely fenced garden and another desexed small dog or puppy for company is a must. Little Spike is a house puppy and, as such, must have access to at least part of the house at all times. Spike is learning about house training and is starting to get the idea, provided he is taken outside often for toilet time. He is not a picky eater and gobbles up all his meals without any fuss or bother and, come night time, goes off to bed and sleeps all night without a peep. Spike is a very smart little puppy who will need to attend puppy preschool to learn good doggy manners and to get the socialisation he needs to grow into a happy, well balanced little dog. Spike is now the perfect age to start life in a new home and will make a wonderful addition to most households however, as he is only a small puppy, children 7 years and over would be best. As Spike grows he will develop a long fluffy coat that requires regular grooming or clipping several times a year. Spike is a special puppy who deserves the very best life has to offer. Spike comes desexed, microchipped, FULLY vaccinated, wormed and with NSW Local Council lifetime registration for $500 and is not available for adoption outside NSW. If you would like more information on Spike or to arrange to meet him, please phone 0466 690916 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email using ADOPTION ENQUIRY as your Subject Heading. Tess is a PRINCESS, expecting and almost always
getting a lot o’ lovin’ from her foster
carer! She is most definitely
a house dog and if left behind outside when everyone else comes in she tries
to knock the back screen door down -
which is amazing given her petite size. Tess
loves being groomed and she does
need weekly attention otherwise her stunning coat could get matted. Her
coat is a stunning creamy colour
with honey coloured ears and is absolutely silky soft and a joy to
stroke. Tess enjoys her food and is
delicate in her eating style. She is a it of a tease and at time will
provoke Nell, her
PAWS
foster sister, to have a good play. Tess has a lot of energy and
is interested in being right in the thick of everything. She is
incredibly affectionate and wonderful
with kids ... totally gentle and sweet. Tess has phases of high energy
and then can sleep like a baby so it's hard to wake her
as she does love her sleep. Tess rarely barks and doesn’t dig
and would make a wonderful addition to a home with another small dog

Female Mastiff X Staffy Puppy Aged approx. 9 weeks Medium to Large size (when fully grown)
Bonny was rescued when she was surrendered
to the Pound as a 'stray' and the story was that she had been
found weeks earlier but her 'finder' was no longer able to keep
her. Oddly, however her 'finder' knew her age, breeding and the
fact that her littermates had homes. Sadly it would seem that
Bonny was the last pup of a purposely bred litter and, rather
than wait to find her an appropriate home, her breeder dumped
Bonny in the Pound. Bonny is a fantastic young pup who is going
to grow into a very attractive looking dog. She is in the same
foster home as Clyde and they very quickly
buddied up and are now the best of friends. Bonny will need a
home with another medium to large size dog to be her companion
and playmate and will benefit from puppy school and 'big dog'
training once she is old enough as she will needs lots of
exercise and stimulation to keep her out of mischief. Bonny is
a house puppy waiting for her new family to come along and she
will only be rehomed to a home where she is allowed to come
inside and be part of the family.

because Bobbie is not assertive and will allow an assertive dog to bully

with his Shih Tzu foster sister. He is not aggressive with cats but
does like to bark at them to make them move so that he can chase them but if they
don't move he will happily sleep next to them. Bobbie is very gentle with
the 5 year old in his foster home and has shown no sign of aggression
with her at all. He sleeps on his carer's bed and gives big kisses in
the morning. Bobbie is fairly easy to groom and is used to daily brushing
and a daily walk. He is being fed a premium diet and we would like this to
