These pets have been saved, thanks to their rescuer Ronda  who is fostering them in the Hunter Valley but they are still looking for homes. Please note that descriptions of dogs as purebred (rather than crossbreed) is given in good faith and is based on assessment of the dog's features, together with veterinary opinion. We cannot guarantee the age, breed or purebred state of any dogs listed.

The age given for puppies is their approximate age on the date they were listed for adoption. To obtain the current age, please add on the number of weeks since that date. The estimated size of puppies when fully grown is given in good faith as a guide only.

STEFFI AND GRAAF

Female and Male Purebred Short Hair Chihuahua

Aged 3 years and 2 years

Toy size

Steffi arrived at the Pound first and, when Graaf was finally caught by the Rangers and arrived at the Pound, Steffi became a different dog. They have obviously lived together and that's the way they will stay - together in their forever new home. Steffi and Graaf would make an instant canine family for a retiree or older working couple. The bare patch on Steffi's chest is where the blood was taken from a vein for her heartworm test (which was negative) and, as her skin is a darker colour than Graafs, the patch shows up more but will disappear when the hair grows back.

MAXWELL SMART

Maxwell is a super smart dog and he just loves to hang out with the other doggies in his foster home. He's very welcoming with children and is ideally suited as a family dog for the kids and another small dog to play with.

Biggles is just as investigative as his namesake ...... always exploring the garden etc.  He loves to hang out with his doggy foster pals but he'd also be happy to live with a stay at home mum or a work from home person and just see his doggy pals down at the local park.

AVA

Female Short Haired Chihuahua X

Aged approx. 10 months

Ava is a very affectionate young dog who is very welcoming and just loves to snuggle up in your arms when she's not playing full on with her foster pals. Ava is ideally suited to a family or an active couple and as a companion to another young doggy pal. Her coat is low maintenance and requires a brush once a week if you have time. The lovely tan colour all over her matches her brown nose, white paws and green eyes - a touch of Irish we think!

ANTON

Male Poodle X Shih Tzu

Anton resembled an Old English Sheep Dog when rescued as his coat was badly in need of a groom but now whoever adopts him will get to see him at his boutique doggy best! Anton is well socialised and loves to play with his doggy foster pal, but he also loves a cuddle or two about six times a day He's best suited to active retirees and if the grandkids come to visit, he'll be the first to greet them.

ANDRE AND AGASSI

Two Male Toy Poodle X Puppies

We think Andre and Agassi are brothers who are having a ball playing for hours with their doggy foster pals. As they are only around five months, these boys will need new forever owners who are prepared to take them to Obedience Training when they are about 10 months old. As they are great mates who play together for hours on end then curl up with each other for a big sleep, we're committed to rehoming them together. Andre and Agassi are best suited to a family environment and are an 'Instant Canine Family' for people who are at work and/or school all day.

ANSEL

Male Wire Haired Terrier X

Aged approx. 18 months

Small size

Ansel is a French name that means 'follows nobility' , He's very skinny and is eating like a horse to catch up but his lack of weight hasn't stopped his loving nature from shining through. Ansel is great with other dogs and is well suited as a pal to another small doggy in a family environment. He's yet to be groomed by his foster carer so a new look Ansel photo will soon be posted !

MISSY MANDY AND CANDY CANE

Two Female Purebred Mini Fox Terrier
(Tenterfield Terrier)

Both aged approx. 12 months

Small size

Missy Mandy (L) and her sister, Candy Cane (R) were surrendered to the Pound due to a change in their owner's circumstances. They've been well looked after and, as they're the perfect age for some basic obedience training, this will top them off to be a wonderful addition to any owner's lifestyle. Missy Mandy and Candy Cane are good mates and could be adopted either together or separately to be a pal for an existing dog that would love a new pal to play and interact with. Candy Cane is slightly smaller in size than her sister and is close to being toy size.

SHILA

Female Great Dane X Labrador

Aged approx. 18 months

Extra Large size

Shila is a very attractive dog and just loves everyone and everything. Her foster carer has been encouraging her to learn the sit, stay, heel commands and she's responding very well. Shila's new forever owner will need to keep up the training and, as Shila is so eager to please, she'll remember the lessons well and be a very manageable dog in the future. Shila is ideally suited to an active owner with a reasonably large yard and plenty of interaction time if she's an only dog or she'd also be suitable as a new pal for an existing, robust dog - not necessarily large in size, but tough enough to take the rough and tumble of large doggy play activities. This is Shila's Pound photo but a new one taken in foster care will be coming soon.

RAHNI

Female Purebred Cairn Terrier

Aged approx. 5 years

Small size

Rahni and her pal Toolah (now rehomed) were dumped at the Pound gates (see below). Rahni had recently had pups and her tummy suggests she's had a few litters but we're happy to say her puppy raising days are over and she's now ready to spend the rest of her life being loved and adored by a new, forever owner. Rahni is ideally suited to active senior owners who are searching for a loving companion to share those senior years with.

 

This is the cardboard box that Rahni and Toolah were dumped in before being left at the Pound gates to be found by rangers when they arrived at work!

MELTON

Male West Highland Terrier X

Small size

Melton has the kindest eyes and he's just hoping he gets his forever home very soon so he can show his new owner how loving he is. Melton is ideally suited to a 'work from home' owner or active retirees so he can spend lots of time accepting cuddles and giving lots of love back in return but also enjoy daily outings to the shops, beach, parks, friends etc.
