(WHERE CAN I FIND MY LOST PET!)

The following list of suggested places to look for your lost pet is based on locality. The most obvious starting place is your own local NSW council Pound or Shelter, but dogs particularly can travel long distances in a short time so it is worth checking pounds out of your local area as well.

Councils are listed in alphabetical order. Just click boneblue2.gif (970 bytes) next to your council area. Addresses, phone numbers and opening hours are given for all Pounds and Shelters and, if they have their own website with descriptions or pictures of impounded animals, a link is provided by clicking on the paw icon  where shown. Please note websites may not show ALL of their impounded dogs so it is important that you contact them directly and, if at all possible, visit the Pound in person as descriptions of cross breed dogs can vary greatly from one person to another!

No responsibility can be taken for information provided here as it is subject to change by the Councils operating the Pounds. Please phone them direct to confirm opening hours before visiting in person. If the phone numbers have been changed since our last update please obtain the Council's number from directory assistance and ask them for the phone number for your local Pound.
